Semi-Junior Clubs Look to New Horizons
For the first time the Lochcarron of Scotland East of Scotland Cup has been expanded to include the Edinburgh Under 18 League teams in a new East Region tournament.
The original concept of the tournament was to ensure clubs still have competitive fixtures in the latter part of the season, once the league programme was completed and the District Under 18 and National Under 17 & Under 18 Programmes began.
The ten semi-junior clubs will this season be joined by the ten Edinburgh Under 18 league clubs and also Duns Colts who, thanks to some excellent development work by both club and school, are looking to resurrect their Under 18 side.
Teams are split into four pools with the pool winners progressing to semi finals of the Cup and runners up to the Plate semi-finals to be played in March.
Pool 1 – Biggar Colts, Duns Colts, Edinburgh BATs, Haddington Colts, Hawick PSA & Tynedale Colts
Pool 2 - Berwick Colts, Boroughmuir, Hawick Wanderers, Melrose Wasps & Murrayfield Wanderers
Pool 3 – Currie Colts, Musselburgh Colts, Peebles Colts, Ross High & Selkirk YC
Pool 4 - Dalkeith, Gala Wanderers, Jed Thistle, Kelso Harlequins & Livingston
