Gala Winners of Kelso Sevens 2003

Well what a start to this rugby season and in a world cup year. This was a great sevens tournament. With in my opinion Kelso taking part in the 2 best ties of the afternoon. The most exciting tie being the Second round tie between Kelso and Hawick. Hawick were 2 scores ahead with only a couple of minutes to go and Kelso clawed their way back to win this tie 22 - 19. What a game it had everyone on the edge of their seats and hearts pounding, this is what sevens is all about, well done lads for the great show of rugby. The next round saw Kelso take on Gala and this contest was decided in the dying minutes also however it was Gala who came back from the dead to pull of a well deserved win of 24 - 21. I think the Kelso Lads will be kicking themselves, but as they say that is sevens rugby. The final was a good contest however Gala always looked the strongest and they finally came out winners of the Kelso Sevens 2003 at 48 - 29 against Melrose.
